Goobies - Tips on how to earn the Abnormal Autopsy Achievement and Artifact!
13In order to unlock the Abnormal Autopsy Achievement and Artifact, you must collect 25 Arboreal Gifts in ONE run. The Artifact gives you a x-0.1 bonus to your score, and it's special ability is that items will no longer be gained from leveling up, but enemies will have a chance to drop items when they die.
Just want to point out that this WILL take a while, and to keep track of how many you have (since there is no indicator.....), use a pen and paper and tally mark each time you get one! This will help you not lose track, as it would suck to get to like 23 and think you have 25, die, and have to do this whole process over...
ALSO, and this will REALLY help, after killing an Elite Boss (the ones with names), stay as far away from the pink zone that takes you to the next level, and stand on a tree(s). This will give you extra chances of earning Arboreal Gifts each stage, and will be safe since you have cleared all enemies!
Arboreal Gifts are yellow power-ups (that resemble health) that can drop from trees when standing on them, or walking through them, with a caveat. The caveat is that you must first earn the Tree Hugger ability, and then upgrade it to Tree Whisperer. Once you have Tree Whisperer, standing still on trees, or walking through them, has a chance to drop an Arboreal Gift. When picked up, they give you 2 abilities to choose from. Really neat!

The chance of an Arboreal Gift from dropping seems very random. I have not seen a way to make them spawn more frequently, but I HAVE noticed (if just by luck), that if I am not getting any to spawn after a while, moving to another cluster of trees made them seem to spawn faster.
My best advice is to attempt this after playing for a while, and put points into permanent upgrades, especially things like XP gain, attack damage, attack speed, and shots fired. These will all really help, as you will be standing still quite a bit for this one, and it can take a LONG time to get 25 Arboreal Gifts.
Another great piece of advise is to unlock the Blobbath Artifact. To unlock it, you must kill a total of 100,000 Blobs, but once equipped, it will cause only Blobs to spawn. This will help a TON, considering you won't have to worry about runners, armored enemies, or even worse, armored runners....
Once you are set, and feel ready to take on this challenge, start a run and try to get Tree Hugger and evolve it to Tree Whisperer as soon as possible. After getting those, stand still in trees, or walk around clusters, and once you see an Arboreal Gift appear, grab it. Do that 25 times.
Outside of Tree Hugger and Tree Whisperer, don't neglect your attacks! Make sure to keep up on upgrading stuff that does AOE damage. You want to be able to keep the hordes off of you as you stand around in trees and waiting for one to spawn (which can take FOREVER sometimes). Once you have collected 25, die, and you will unlock the Abnormal Autopsy Achievement and Artifact at the game over stat screen!
