This is a speedrun of Ys II Complete for the PC. It's currently still a work in progress, but at least some progress has finally been made again. That said, the Moat of Burnedbless will likely be fairly difficult to optimize, so progress will probably still be slow.

Anyway, I start this segment off by doing the warp trick while collecting the Stone Shoes, as it's faster to warp back to Lance instead of manually backtracking through the Ice Ridge to the Anti-Illusion Mirror. Since I used the Marle Flower last segment, I need to manually equip an item briefly, and then cycle over to the Stone Shoes; since I manually equipped the Staff of Divinity in segment 4, my subscreen cursor now defaults to that everytime I need to visit the inventory subscreen after using a consumable item.

Now, for the rest of the Ice Ridge. There are a lot of seemingly extra charged fireballs being thrown around, especially in the beginning area. With the possible exception of the first one at 1:05, every single one of those is necessary to reach the amount of gold I want to have before Tyalmath, and that number is 3,634. Having that much will still enable me to purchase the Hyper Cutter as soon as possible, but without needing to detour for either the 1,000 G chest in Tyalmath's lair, or the 2,000 G chest at the end of the Moat of Burnedbless, both of which are ~11 second detours.

As for improvements, I don't see much more than a second or two coming off this time (one attempt was actually 7 frames faster, but didn't have quite enough gold). There were a couple spots where I got hung up very briefly, but I doubt it was more than half a second. I will say that the last enemy just before the Anti-Illusion Mirror could've been killed a little faster with a charged fireball or two, but I wanted to make sure I had a shot prepared for the armed blue enemy just above it. In addition to that, the 4 cyclops enemies near the Hawk Idol chest are occasionally lined up so I don't need to deviate from the path, but that doesn't happen often; the same is true of the final enemy killed before entering the boss room. Some small time (probably half a second, if that) can probably also be saved by not letting the MP charge deplete in the ice block cave. Having it go all the way down means the next shot takes a little longer to charge, but not depleting the MP bar means holding on to the previous shot a little longer than is otherwise necessary, at least with my MP being so low.
