Originally Sea Bottom Segue has the typical Sonic percussion, and because of that has a good amount of energy. Still, even with that there’s a very chill vibe to this song. Once the drums are taken away, the track becomes extremely soothing and relaxing. This is one of those songs that has a strong sense of harmony, to the point where the melody mostly just stays on chord tones. Even though it is in C major, it doesn’t spend a lot of time on the C major chord. The harmony wanders quite a bit, but eventually goes back home with a classic V7 to I cadence. With all the complex, high energy music, Sea Bottom Segue is a great change of pace.
