This is the only song on the album not originally written by Jun Senoue or Tomoya Ohtani. Of all the songs covered, Friends was the one most suited for full synth, so I embraced that with my version, adding new synths I’ve never used in musescore before. Compared to a lot of songs on the album, this is one of the more tonal in terms of harmony, branching out into a plethora of non-diatonic chords. The harmony keeps things feeling fresh, like new musical avenues are being explored throughout the song. There’s something so joyful about this song, and I think I captured that joy with this cover.
