Primary key: D major
Instruments used: Pan Flute, Electric Guitar (Funk Guitar), Ocarina, Cellos, Classical Guitar (Nylon String Guitar), Acoustic Bass, Drumset, Bongos, Congas, Casaba, Hand Clap, Vibraslap
As the name suggests, the Savannah Citadel level has a sort of desert/African theme, and that is represented in its music. The use of bongos, congas, and a casaba set the tone very well, giving a tribal field when it’s just percussion, but when the melodic instruments come in the sound becomes a lot more relaxed. That guitar solo especially is very Beach Boys. The song uses a Mixolydian sort of chord progression, taking the edge off the standard major scale with a flat 7. I would also not know what a vibraslap was if I had not made this arrangement. This song is so much fun.
