I finally get to do a video on the other half of the Deadly Alliance. Quan Chi was introduced in MK4, and has been a fan favourite ever since. Presumably because he looks like an evil version of Uncle Fester.

I said it before back in my Havik video, but Quan Chi’s Tang Soo Doo fighting style is absolutely fucking brilliant. It basically all revolves around knocking the opponent backwards which, in a game like this, turns Quan Chi into an insanely deadly character. Unlike Shang Tsung, he actually keeps his weapon (which is certainly interesting), but apart from that he’s a pretty typical unplayable character. His core, best fighting style can be used by Havik anyway, meaning that you’re not missing out on too much by not playing as him. Except, of course, that you’re not getting to play as Quan Chi, which is actually a pretty criminal thing. He’s a really competent character, and that’s all there really is to say about him.

We’ll be seeing Quan Chi again, in the not too distant future.
