#1110 Mortal Kombat Deception (PS2) Unplayable Characters (12/16): Noob Saibot (solo) playthrough.
A playthrough of the unplayable character Noob Saibot (solo) in the PS2 version of Midway’s/Netherrealm’s Mortal Kombat Deception.
Hello darkness, my old friend.
Noob and Smoke both exist as separate characters in the game. What’s more, Noob’s character value is actually 2(!), implying that he was placed in the game during quite early development. He even has his own individual portrait. Like most of the unplayables, however, he doesn’t have any special moves, and without Smoke by his side he feels really neutered in terms of power, given that the duo’s best combos derived from switching out into the other. Unlike most of the other unplayables, Noob does have a partially-complete moveset, which is quite interesting. Also interesting is that Noob’s portrait here is actually different than his final one, and he uses the hidden costume for Noob-Smoke. It’s worth noting that, even if the player uses Noob-Smoke in their hidden outfits, this unique portrait never appears! Legitimately really interesting, considering how many unplayables don’t even have a portrait. Hell, the announcer even says his name! It’s so intriguing.
Noob is extremely plain here, with only one moveset and two 3-hit combos, though he still holds his own okay despite the drawbacks. He’s more a curiosity than a character you’d want to play as, but he’s interesting nonetheless.
Next up, it’s Noob’s other-half.
