#1120 Mortal Kombat Unchained (PSP) Exclusive Characters (4/4): Blaze playthrough.
A playthrough of the exclusive character Blaze in Midway’s/Netherrealm’s Mortal Kombat Unchained.
Sort-of fan favourite Blaze returns for the second time, being a pretty obvious pick to include. I said that the Deadly Alliance characters were unchanged from their appearance there and I wasn’t kidding. Blaze here still has no fatality, and still has three fighting styles borrowed from other generic, not to mention three generic special moves. He’s nothing to write home about, and as with Frost exists more as fanservice than anything else. Still, it’s always a bit of home to get to cover an obscure character. Blaze is perfectly competent as a character, and probably worth playing as once just for the sake of it.
Also, say goodbye to Onaga as a boss. This is the last time I’ll fight him as a boss, after 35 blummin' videos. Funnily enough though, I never really got tired of fighting him, especially after getting down his pattern and his telegraphing. For Mortal Kombat, it’s almost nice to have that reliably predictable a boss. Explains why I ended up enjoying Sekiro so much.
Blaze is about to get a lot more important. I said before that this game is a bit of semi-sequel, and I wasn’t kidding as Blaze’s ending quite literally leads into the next game. Keep that in mind, as we finally move on to the next game in the MK series, Mortal Kombat Armageddon.
