-Well that marks the end of the Megaman series and the suffering that bastard; Sigma has put me through. Am I’m relieved? Are you mental? This is yet another outstanding game and while offering little more than; 'a little more than' its predecessors, it’s good enough to stand head and shoulders above most of its genre! The gameplay is great as ever, and the host of new weapons rewarding, tho Once again I find myself, relying on the X-buster almost exclusively, only delving into specials to exploit boss weaknesses. There's more story telling depth with the inclusion of Z as a (albeit small) playable character. Its kind of a shame then I’m left completely in the dark given I was playing the SFC version! Yeah, its another late collection addition I decided I wasn’t going to remortgage for.Not being able to read to the text is rarely an issue with platformers like this, though it felt a noticeable handicap here! The fact you’re only allowed to Enhance your armour upgrades once, then you’re stuck with that choice till the end, is unforgivable. Yes its true you’re better off holding out for the Gold Armour, but how many players would really know about that if it wasnt for the Internet? Perhaps an English translation may have highlighted this? Perhaps not, but given your ability to re-enter stages, even after the Robot Master have fallen, it seems reasonable to allow you to switch your Enhancement chip no? Its an crucial oversight that really disappoints and its not the only one!One of the series highs and what sits it apart from the style of the classic series, is how enjoyable the X series is to control. Why then the decision to utterly destroy the fluidity of the X-buster charge, by introducing that GOD AWFUL Arm Upgrade! The almost useless initial burst then painfully slow 2nd has you cursing the game & longing for the original charge!Once again tho, this being their 4th attempt, Capcom still fail to offer a password that saves progress beyond the Robot Masters! Seriously was this a programming failure or simply arseholery? The Sigma stages are shorter than before but Sigma himself is rock hard! Good luck beating it on your first sitting!
