#177 MARIO PAINT - FULL PLAYTHROUGH (Coffee Break) - Beating My SNES GAMES
Here is of my full playthrough of Mario Paint done, as always using original hardware on a Super Nintendo with no cheats or save states! I had to succomb to adding two additional lives from startup in order to beat Normal mode. Therefore this game is void of the main challenge to beat every game on its starting settings. This the second time i've failed with a game after also failing on Imperium!
Follow me on instagram @Cabin_game_fever to join me live or via my reviews and uploads to witness me take down all the games currently in my SNES collection on their starting settings, following on from having already beaten all 234 licenced UK releases for the NES. I only use original carts, no cheats & no save states.

-Who needs a controller? It's the 90s, a new world of home computer excitement awaits those tired of the one dimensional console experience. Parents around the globe are sold on the illusion of home word processing and online capability, hell even before online, mine were sold the moment Window's 95 came with Encyclopedia Britainica on CDrom! Regardless of the reality that 99.9% of kids religiously used their home computers exclusively only for gaming, the illusion of improving school work was a powerful tool of persuasion
Nintendo; not for the first time, took it upon themselves to target that same educational market, with arguably one of most memorable and successful 'learning games' of all time!
Taking care to create something that actually works, both fundamentally and techically, Nintendo make what Software Toolworks: Mario is Missing, failed so spectacularly at. They actually made learning fun!
For 1992, the premise of the cartridges primary inbuilt draw/paint function really is impressive. Surpassing even recent MS paint functionality. Okay so it is horribly slow, but heck, you ever try Microsoft's own win95 paint model?
But Mario Paint is so much more than just a more snazzy version of the NES's 'Colour a Dinosaur'. Packaged in with paint, is a basic animation studio creator, a music creation studio and even an inbuilt Fly Swatting game.
There's no denying all feel incredibly old by comparison to new age software now, but for its time it was a miracle to have this kind of user face on a cartridge. And you even got mouse to control it! Yeah that's right, a mouse on a snes!
In fairness the mouse peripheral was compatible with numerous point/click games on the snes but to my knowledge, Mario Paint is the only one where its required to play!
As mentioned most of the games features are horribly dated leaving the modern experience pretty flat. Even with my rose tinted glasses it's alot to forgive. Still the additional of 'Coffee Break' added a nice level of challenge to aim for. The 3 levels of frantic point and click or swipe and smash, certainly put your mouse to the test!
