Here is my Full playthrough of Rock N Roll Racing done, as always, using original hardware on a Super Nintendo with no cheats or save states!

-Its been awhile eh? Missed me? I doubt you even noticed, well that's life but in truth I have been feeling the strain of this challenge recently. 4 years I've been at this now.. that of course includes the 234 NES games too but however you look at it, destroying my library has left its scars! It's true I'm almost into the final 10 snes games so the end is well insight (for this console anyway), however the energy required to pursue this relentless quest dwindles the more my personal life struggles to balance the pressures of daily existence. Still what better example of high quality gameplay could reinvigorate the soul other than a game about a monkey called Spanky, playing with his balls?

Natsume's puzzle action game is absolutely bat shit crazy, but it's still a worthy play despite the immediate disappointment of there being no actual spanking! Instead you control Spanky; a Monkey (yes 'Spank the Monkey', it's not lost on me... come on Natsume, seriously?) What's even more bizzare is the array of attacks. At first shooting only a harmless bubble, managing to bounce it once will create a baseball. A second bounce sees a line of footballs appear? 3 bounces attacks with a large Volleyball & a fourth unleashes Spanky's most poweful assault of giant basketballs! What is this Monekys deal? Is he a substitute Gym teacher in his spare time?

Gameplay centres around acquiring keys from fallen foes in order to unlock a door to the next stage. Enemies (a collection of deramged fruit and veg) attack in patterns that vary quite well but there's a definitely cheapness at times that demands the use of less savoury language!

Your giant, unwieldy hitbox is a problem, the awkward arc of your projectiles is also annoying & the requirement to beat all 10 stages and boss with only 3 lives before being granted a password to the next world is taxing in the final stages. At least the bosses are laughably simple.

Released simultaneously on GameBoy its unsurprising the Snes game feels rather short, and rather too easy in places. However there is challenge and some fun to be had.

Now while Spanky celebrates with his balls. I'll move into the final 10 games!
