400- BST Bug Types vs Radical Red: Super Nerd Miguel's Double Trouble
1I am doing a relatively casual playthrough of Pokemon Radical Red only using Bug types that have a BST (Base Stat Total) of 400 or less. This fight was more annoying than difficult. Though I know the next one will be much harder than this.
This is a Double Battle so it's tougher than most fights.
Thwackey:
Grassy Surge but no Grassy Glide. It will Fake Out turn 1 on the potential threat but Beautifly has Silk Trap to help nerf its Speed. Air Slash or Cross Poison will take him out.
Hisuian Voltorb:
It has a Focus Sash. It has Self Destruct. Oh no. Anyways, it's Shock Wave hits hard and can never miss. I guess I got lucky against it. Cross Poison or Air Slash can easily take it out.
Sableye:
The single most annoying Pokemon on his team. Prankster Recover and Will o Wisp is truly a force to be reckoned with. If his HP is below 50%, it will use Recover. If neither of your Pokemon is burned, it will target the Pokemon with the highest ATK stat and use Will o Wisp on that. If one is burned and not the other, the other will get burned. Luckily, taking it out is the easy part, well mostly anyway. It spams Recover as you get it closer down.
Bibarel:
It has Simple and Grassy Seed which means double defense boost on Turn 1 if the Grassy Terrain is still up. It has Curse to boost his defenses even further. Special Attacks are best to be used here. But be careful for it's priority Aqua Jet that it gets STAB with.

Base Radical Red Difficulty
Bug Type Pokemon Only
All Bug Type Pokemon must have a base stat total equal or less than 400.
