This video will show you how to possibly discover if a used vehicle's odometer (miles / kilometers) has been rolled back simply with the vehicle's VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). Essentially, this free and easy method will allow you obtain a brief history of your vehicle. With the VIN and current mileage (or kilometres) in hand, contact the manufacture's head office of your country. Through providing the VIN, ask where the original point of sale of said vehicle was made. They should provide you with the name and phone number of the dealer where this vehicle was originally sold. From there, contact the dealership in question and ask the service representative when was the last time this vehicle was serviced at this dealership, and more importantly, what was the last noted odometer reading. Compare this odometer reading with the vehicle's current odometer reading, and given the time span between the last noted odometer reading and now, determine if the current odometer reading is realistic (obviously, if your current odometer reading is lower than the last noted odometer reading at the dealership, then the odometer has been trafficked.)
