A (Short) Story About Deathloop’s Alluring Art #shorts
Deathloop is not just one of the best games of 2021 -- it’s also one of the most stylish. The minimalist mod look is striking, but it didn’t come out of nowhere. According to developer Arkane Lyon, there’s one particular name we need to thank for influencing the Deathloop style.
That man is Saul Bass. He created classic movie posters for the likes of The Shining, Vertigo, and more. He also designed the title sequences for movies like Anatomy of a Murder and The Man with the Golden Arm. You’ll see all of those in this video, as we take a (short) look at how “the Saul Bass vibe” influenced Deathloop.
This is a spoiler-free video, but if you want to play Deathloop for yourself, you can grab it on PS5 and PC. Like we said earlier, it’s one of our favorite games of 2021. Our pals over at GameSpot even gave it their overall Game of the Year award!
