Really gotta give props to whoever designed these goggles, the occasional clever UAC techs amongst all the imbeciles. The fact that they allow you to see through fog is a godsend when you have these areas where enemies have 100% visibility while you have about 10.

One wonders if they're still alive or if they paid the price for being such good engineers.
