Sega's notorious 32X add-on for the Sega Mega Drive may have crashed and burned pretty quickly, but not quickly enough to avoid having a football game released for it. This is the add-on's only football game, and it's an interesting halfway-house between the Sega Mega Drive and Sega Saturn versions of the 3rd FIFA game.

The music is the same as that from the Mega Drive version, but the 3D gameplay resembles the Saturn version to an extent. There are a number of different camera angles you can switch between and undoubtedly this was impressive in 1995.

However, as with FIFA International Soccer on Mega Drive, it's an awkward, slow and clumsy game to play and moving on a 3D pitch with a d-pad highlights why analogue sticks were invented. Therefore, whilst this is a significant entry in the FIFA series, like all the old FIFAs, it's best left to curious historians- everyone else can play something that's actually fun like... a modern FIFA.
