Another day, another mediocre SNES football game. On the plus side, I like how you can select different viewpoints from the options menu (vertical and horizontally scrolling fans are both well served here) and that the view of the pitch zooms out when the ball is kicked high. The title screen music is also pretty good.

But on the pitch, it's a familiar tale of mediocrity. Like World Cup USA 94, the controls seem too slow for the game's pace, so the game is quickly reduced to a matter of kicking the ball upfield as fast as you can when you have the ball. It also seems quite easy to score own goals- I was quite taken by surprise scoring the own goal in this video, but I also felt this had happened in a previous game I'd played prior to this recording.

There have been much worse football games encountered on this quest, but is it really that unreasonable for me to yearn for 1 more good SNES exclusive football game instead of yet more mediocre tat?
