This video answers the question: Can you play Microsoft Xbox One games on PC? For a VERY LIMITED number of Microsoft-in-house produced titles, the answer is YES. Games that fall under the Xbox Play Anywhere banner can be played under the Windows 10 operating system provided that the user owns the DIGITAL rights to the game (which means they purchased the title in a downloadable format either from the Microsoft Store app in Windows 10 or in a digital download format on their Microsoft Xbox One console. Games that are owned on Xbox One disc can NOT be played on Windows 10 PC. The user does NOT have to own an Xbox One console in order to purchase, download, install, and play these titles under Windows 10 PC (these games can be purchased, downloaded, installed, and played through the Microsoft Store app on Windows 10 PC). Benefits to playing Xbox Play Anywhere titles under Windows 10 PC is that your profile, progress, save games, and achievements will follow you from Xbox One console to PC and vice versa (from PC back to Xbox One console). Also, multiplayer is free on Windows 10 PC (no need to purchase Xbox Live Gold service in order to play these games online). Finally, these titles can be played using a keyboard and mouse (functionality that is sorely lacking on the Xbox One system). Downsides include very few titles being available under the Xbox Play Anywhere banner, and with the games being optimized for the Xbox One console, these games require very performant PC hardware in order to be playable at a decent speed on PC.
