How to get the most free content out of your Videotron Illico digital cable subscription
11This video will show you how to get the most free content out of your Videotron Illico digital cable subscription. This video shows you how to do this on a Cisco Explorer 8642 HD digital set top box converter.
1. Open the CHANNEL GUIDE, at the bottom, you have an option for CHANNEL FILTERS. After selecting CHANNEL FILTERS, selecting MY PACKAGE CHANNELS will reveal the channels that you have selected to be part of your channel lineup, as well as the channels that Videotron are allowing you to view free for that particular month in preview (indicated by a yellow present gift box icon). You can view these preview channels for as long as you would like during the month, and the following month these 'free preview' channels will become locked again and a new set of 'free preview' channels will be made available to you - this is why it is recommended that you check for new preview channels at least once a month.
2. With your Videotron subscription, you have access to 'channels on demand' content at no additional cost. This is accessed through the 900 button followed by CHANNELS ON DEMAND. The heading 'My Package Channels' are channels that you have selected to be part of your channel lineup, and the 'on demand' content for these channels can be viewed for as long as you like and as often as you like (provided that you remain a subscriber of these channels). The 'on demand' content of the channels that were also offered to you in free preview for the month will also be made available to be viewed 'on demand' for as long as the channel in question remains in a 'free preview' period (again, look for the yellow present gift box icon). Regardless if it is found on a channel you subscribe to or on a channel that is in 'free preview', the show episodes made available 'on demand' will only be available for viewing for a limited time, so you should not hesitate to view these episodes or shows 'on demand' at your earliest convenience if they represent something that could possibly interest you.
3. Again, under Illico on Demand (channel 900) you have access to a category called 'TV SHOWS'. Under 'TV Shows', you have a sub-category called 'FREE PREVIEWS'. Under 'Free Previews', look through the television shows that are listed under this category, and certain episodes (sometimes even entire seasons of shows) (shows that often you would not normally have access to given your channel selections) are made available for you to watch on demand completely free of charge (even if you do not subscribe to the channel airing said content). Note that despite the fact that the entire available season of said television series appears under this heading, only the episodes with the yellow present gift box icon are free to view without subscribing to the host channel beforehand. Again, these free preview television show episodes will only be available for viewing free for a limited amount of time, so you should not hesitate to view these episodes as soon as possible if you feel that they could be something that interests you.
