A new legion of evil is coming straight to your kingdom. Pierce every last enemy with your bow in this shooting and adventure game called Barons Gate II. The princess has been kidnapped by a large red dragon, and your mission is to rescue here. Go to each level and eliminate enemies until your reach the exit. Destroy crates and solve puzzles in order to reach new areas. There are also treasure chests you can open up to receive armors, weapons, potions, and gems. The enemies may also drop these items or you can go straight to your camp to purchase them from the store.

The world of side scrolling and platforming is always good. There are a lot of good and bad games which is why Barons Gate is one of them. If you enjoyed the first Barons Gate game then Barons Gate 2 will give you your fill. You’re controlling Baron once again going to save the day during these medieval times. Just trek your way through multiple levels in the world of Barons Gate 2.
Aesthetic:
The visuals for the game are good as always. They are hand drawn which is good in all aspects. Then again they aren’t anything too special but it does the work for the most part. The animation and movement of the characters are also good in a sense. The music as well is good which fits the environment. There is the slow toned music for certain parts. The music used for the dungeon areas is really good as it gives a distinct intensity and suspense as well as a sense of danger. If you also listen carefully to when your character dies, you will hear the popular Wilhelm Scream which is also nice. The gameplay is what you’re mostly looking for in the game.
Gameplay:
Barons Gate 2 has you control your main character which is Baron. Baron is armed with his bow, as he needs to trek down the numerous stages. Players control Baron in a classic side scrolling game. Players can make Baron jump and shoot his bow. The players need to control Baron in terms of moving him around in a sense where he needs to avoid getting hit and shoot down enemies. When shooting, you use your left mouse for that but the aim will still require you to move your mouse to the direction that you want to shoot at. You’ll also have unlimited arrows so that’s always good. There are 20 levels to traverse through and each level has a number of obstacles and enemies. Each level has a checkpoint where in case your character dies, he will revive at the last checkpoint. There are unlimited lives so you basically can continue the stage despite how many times you’ll die. In between some of the levels are Camps where you can have a little rest and don’t have to worry about the fighting in the meantime. In the Camps, you can interact with some of the soldiers as well as buy equipment. Completing levels award you money and you can always do those levels over again to gain more money. Changing your equipment is crucial as the later levels tend to be harder so you need more armor, HP and attack power to keep Baron alive. In some levels, there are shops that you can buy equipment as well but some of those items appear in some of the Camps later on so it beats the purpose. Barons Gate 2 is a good game and it scales well. It’s easy at first but becomes a bit harder later on.
