For today I picked a topic somewhat different from the usual videos, as I want to suggest the best games for relaxation, or at least, these are the games I find most relaxing to play! The video contains an assortment of genres, so there will probably be something for you too.

Wether it is the Reignited Trilogy or the three original Spyro games on the PlayStation one, the adventures of the purple dragon are without a doubt the most relaxing games for me. Spyro is a series of platforming games, in which the player has to collect gems and a different main collectable in each title, to unlock more levels, and progress through the story. While the second game is more challenging than the others, especially when it comes to boss fights, the first and third adventures of Spyro rarely pose any challenge to the player, as only the latest sections of those games, and also some tricky hidden collectables need true gaming skill to be completed. Sometimes you may need to figure out how to proceed to reach certain spots in a level but it's always a manner of understanding where to jump, or where is the right elevator or stair case, but generally speaking the enemies are pretty weak and you can beat the levels without too much effort, that's why I find it relaxing.

Once upon a time I used to be an Assassin's Creed fan, in fact the first game and the Ezio Collection will always be special for me. While the story of these games proposes serious themes such as freedom, greed, and power, the gameplay, gorgeous environments and music are what really make me relax. All these games feature the concepts of hiding through the crowds, or high above buildings to find your target, and then positioning yourself to strike, and the process to plan my moves is really relaxing to me, but on top of this also the combat is: in the first two games it's a manner of dealing the right counter attack with the right timing, and in Brotherhood and Revelations you need to anticipate the enemy that's next to hit you thanks to chain killing, which I think is very easy to do, and also to learn. All of this is well complimented by the music and the beautiful places you visit throughout the games, in fact I find myself mesmerizing at the sight ahead of me in certain locations.

If you are not going to try and collect all the hidden coins in New Super Mario Bros 1 & 2 you can beat both games without too much effort put into them. Something about playing these games comfortable lying down on the sofa really puts me into chilling mode, and there's not much else to say honestly. As far as content quantity goes they are honest games, and the platform mechanics are a great refinement of all the classic 2D Mario games, though no level gets as hard as in the original Super Mario Bros, and this is what makes these two games very relaxing.

Being born in 1994 I have had the privilege to live year by year with the releases of the Harry Potter series as I went through elementary school. This of course led me to also play Harry Potter on the first PlayStation, and while I was able to also play the second game via rent I spent most of my time with the first one. Both the Harry Potter games released on PS1 make an incredible job at putting you into the atmosphere of Hogwarts, as the music is really something magical, and although textures and 3D models were not good even for the time the art style is still able to convey what it wants to tell you. It's oddly satisfying to roam around Hogwarts and collect all the “every flavor beans” in the castle, although I need to point out that the final bosses were a little scary as a kid.

Unless you want to play competitively any main line Pokémon game can be very relaxing to play, raising your monsters to win badges and beat the Pokémon league is something you really can do at your own pace: taking the time to catch new ones, level them up, or join some of the secondary activities proposed by the various games in these wonderful and peaceful looking places has put a smile on my sleepy face since the current century, and every now and then I'm happy to start a new relaxing adventure in the world of Pokémon.
