Board Games Top 5 - Dudes on a Map
82As game genres go, "dudes on a map" is about as broad as you can get, aside from "board game" or "card game". Generally, these are games with player-controlled creatures/characters who end up fighting, often based on territory control and similar mechanics. Here are my favorites!
While open to a LOT of interpretation, I view the idea of dudes on a map games being about control of the board. Getting territory, maintaining resources, strategic alliances, all the classic tropes of warring countries moving representative figures around on a large table. That said, it could be characters moving around a racetrack, simple exploration, or any number of other things!
