The one thing that drives me crazy about twin-stick shooters like Geometry Wars is that I’m pretty bad at aiming shots with the right stick.
Breakpoint provides an innovative solution to this problem: what if you used melee weapons instead of bullets? Surprisingly, it works really well!
This game also borrows a mechanic from Every Extend (Extra) (Extreme), where you can make an enemy explode near other enemies to set off a chain reaction. This is why you’ll sometimes see me circling around swarms of those green things in an attempt to set off the biggest chain possible.
Regarding the weapons in this game: the hammer is really strong but it has this slow wind-up animation that I’ve NEVER gotten used to and always results in cheap deaths for me. That’s why I keep avoiding it and only picked it up by accident in this video. The spear is not too bad, but I sometimes avoid it because I just prefer the other weapons over it. The knives and sword are my favourite weapons, as you’ll see when you watch the video.
