Ticket To Earth

When I was obsessed with finding decent mobile games (because I liked the convenience of having games on a device that was always with me), I discovered one particular gem called Ticket To Earth. Re-buying the game on Steam was a no-brainer. Featuring it on this channel was non-negotiable.
It’s a combination of a puzzle game and a strategy game which bears a slight resemblance to Grindstone (Capybara Games). You have to draw paths through matching icons in order to charge up your attack power and special abilities, but in this game you also have to consider tactical positioning that may necessitate drawing shorter paths to stop on a specific tile. That isn’t really apparent in this video, but becomes more important later on when enemies start carrying firearms (which is also the reason why you see Rose ‘take cover’ behind a crate… that mechanic becomes important later on!).
You also have ‘Justice Powers’ that are charged by collecting Justice Tokens. These powers can be charged across multiple missions and can only be used sparingly (because it takes a lot longer to charge them up). And in case you were wondering, the ‘Justice Station’ and ‘Peace Keepers’ in this game are part of a ruthless bounty hunting organization, so don’t be fooled by the classy terminology.
In this video, I used the ability to replay old missions to show off the first story mission that lets you control two characters at once (Rose and Wolf). Wolf has a character-specific ability that lets you increase his attack range by collecting purple tiles, but the other abilities on show are ones you unlock throughout the campaign (yes, there are skill trees and purchasable weapons too).
For some reason OBS didn’t capture the mouse cursor for this game, but I thought the nature of the game makes it pretty easy to follow what’s happening anyway. Aside from drawing pathways through the tiles, I’m also clicking on attack targets and clicking the icons at the top of the screen to activate abilities. So I hope this video still gives a good impression of the game... an excellent game that is criminally underrated that you should be wishlisting right now! ;)
