The new Starbound 1.3 space stations are all very nice, but what if you want to build your own space station? We see how in this let's play Starbound 1.3 preview video.

Starbound 1.3 space station construction begins by completing a short quest on an existing space station, whereuopn you'll be given a station transponder. Deploy the probe, and you can then fly to the station in your mech.

Your space station comes fully fitted with a teleporter and storage, and you can grow it by adding on new sections, which costs a certain amount of materials - mostly ore bars. We build a base pretty much at random, calling it Tim Station Alpha for some reason.

Also in this let's play Starbound 1.3 preview video, we discover that existing space stations have traders that have one unique thing they will sell you, and one they will buy from you. Going between stations, you can find out who buys and sells what, and hopefully make a profit!
