Cavalcadence plays Melting 1 - Golden wrench (& 1st time reaching the Throne Room!)


So I picked up Nuclear Throne via the Humble Indle Bundle 17, and I've been playing it off-and-on since then. =) I've mostly been playing Crystal and Melting, and before the run in this video, the farthest I'd gotten with any character was 7-1 (twice with Crystal)... and the farthest I'd gotten with Melting was 5-3 (where I'd managed to defeat Lil Hunter... but wasn't quite able to clear the rest of the enemies!).

Anyway, after unlocking Golden weapons for all of my currently playable characters, I ended up with a Golden Wrench for Melting. So just for fun, I thought I'd try a Golden Wrench run with Melting... and while I didn't break my previous record, I actually ended up doing a lot better than I thought I would!

So I set Melting's starting weapon as the Golden Wrench, and started practicing with it. Perhaps predictably, my next few runs weren't very good. =p But after that, things improved. =) ...then got worse again. =p Then improved again. =)

And then, somehow, this run happened. ^^;


Yep, I made it to the Throne Room, for the first time ever! However, since I'd never seen anybody battle the Throne before (I think the farthest into the game I'd seen somebody play was 4-1 or 5-1, I think?)... I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I did know that the Throne was an enemy, but other than that...

Well, those of you who know what the Throne battle is like can probably guess what happened. =)
