Cavalcadence plays Dove 9: No-shovel challenge! (All Zones Mode)
For anybody who's interested in custom Cadences (or other characters), the official NecroDancer FAQ has some info about creating custom characters, and even has a link to the pinned thread on the official forums, where people have posted some of their custom creations:

So... losing my shovel for the first time (Cadence 36) got me thinking... I wonder how difficult it would be for Cadence to go through the entire game without a shovel? Thinking about it... I guess with a decent weapon, it probably wouldn't be so bad for her.
...which got me thinking about Dove. ^^
Dove's shovel (Crystal Shovel) is the strongest shovel in the game... and one of her greatest advantages! It allows her to get out of a lot of crowded situations (by digging a tunnel, and blocking it with a confused enemy)... or better yet, avoid them in the first place (by going around rooms full of enemies, instead of through them)! =)
So... what would it be like if Dove had no shovel? I wasn't quite sure, but I thought it might be interesting to find out. ^_^ And so began my no-shovel-use Dove attempts... which I suppose, for reasons of both blood and dirt, could be called "Dove doesn't like to get her hands dirty". ^^;;
Anyway, after a number of failed attempts (yes, including one where I couldn't find a way to change her shovel to glass before getting to 4-1... =p), I finally completed a no-shovel run with Dove! =) Made some mistakes along the way, of course... ^^; But overall, it was a lot of fun! Anyway, here it is... hope you enjoy!
The mini-bosses I encountered during this run were:
Zone 1: Minotaur, Direbat, Green Dragon.
Zone 2: Green Dragon, Direbat, Green Dragon.
Zone 3: Nightmare, Green Dragon, Direbat.
Zone 4: Green Dragon, Ogre, Green Dragon.
Some notes and possible points of interest:
0:07 Zone 1, Level 1
0:10 Oh wow, I think that's a Potion room! I should probably save my bomb, though, in case I need it later... ^^;
1:21 I hear something digging... that could be useful!
1:22 Mini-boss: Minotaur
1:43 Potion!
2:40 Zone 1, Level 2
2:55 Is that a...? A Shrine of Glass! Nice! =)
3:21 Glass Shovel!
3:26 Hmm, I don't remember how much damage the Orange Slime does... maybe I'll just go with the Blue Slime or Zombie.

4:20 Mini-boss: Direbat
4:26 Zone 1, Level 3

5:14 Mini-boss: Green Dragon. ...and why are there so many skeletons in the boss room?! =p
5:18 Well that's... wonderful. =p Oh wait, I still have my initial bomb! Good thing I didn't waste it on the 1-1 Potion room! =)

17:29 Quaffed Potion! Whoops, did that wrong. ^^; Well at least the way is clear for the sentry now!
17:46 Hmm, the Freeze Spell hasn't recharged yet, but if the boss room turns out to be really crowded... I do have full health now, so I could spend a heart of health to activate the spell instead!
17:48 Mini-boss: Green Dragon. Doesn't look too crowded, but I'm definitely keeping the Freeze Spell in mind, in case I need to use it!
