CiB Let's Try - The Smurfs (PS1)
Playstation 1 is truly the 'Wild West' of video game systems. In the early days of 3D, it seemed like every developer tried to throw their hat into the massively popular PS1 ring and produced some of the most random, odd games of all-time. Recently, we sat down with a stack of PS1 games we never heard of, and the results are... unsurprising.
The Smurfs was released in 1999, seemingly as a Playstation exclusive (though I can't 100% verify it wasn't also on PC), and was dveloped by Heliogame (aka Doki Denki SA, who also made a few Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan games, and that's pretty much it), published by Atari SA (aka Infogrames).
So this is a game made for super young children, so it's not fair to judge it as an 'adult', but even for a kid game, this is pretty bare-bones. I'd like to think that I can at least tell the difference between a kid game that didn't really try, and a kid game where they did try, and this is one that they clearly did not put much into. So... if you want a Smurfs game, and you want something where you can 100% turn your brain off.... this is a video game! Thanks for watching!
