Before the days of Hideous Destructor, there was Marine Doom. After Marine Doom, there was Cold as Hell. Anyways, an extremely early one for today since I'm also using this as the preview video for the release, also something to reset the schedule.

Welcome to a classic mod, ladies and gents! A mod that adds a slow tactical experience to Doom that takes place in a Cold War setting, though of course, demons get involved. I played this mod a few weeks ago and quite enjoyed the whole thing, figured the mechanics interesting enough to run other mapsets with, and slowly but surely, I cobbled up a version that indeed could very much be considered a standalone gameplay mod. Complete with mechanical changes to boot, too! Like a Bazooka to shoot down Icon of Sins. Of course, there's quite a many changes done, but I'd like to not repeat the Aliens Eradication video with long descriptions about what I changed, the forum thread already does it for me. When I'm done sorting it out anyways.

Anyways, the map for today. Something that is still quite cold. The Joy of Mapping 5! Well, one map from the first episode anyways, Solace of Solstice. Pretty good map, love the multiple ways you could approach the situation, the final castle bit that's surrounded by poisonous water is also neat. Bit unfortunate that I missed that last item, but alas, not much that can be done.
