This... has been an odd stream. Well, maybe that's not true. But when it comes to streaming, I always expect to hit a significant wall. But River City Girls has been pretty much smooth sailing for the entirety of my playthrough. Sure, it's not like I never died... and it wasn't exactly like Felix the Cat, where I beat it in an hour. But it lacked that trend I've had in... the vast majority of my streams, where I eventually hit a wall and spend at least the better part of an hour essentially bashing my head against that wall in an effort to beat it. And that's not really a complaint: much like last time, this entire game has been so fun to play, I'm ashamed that I had to stream it in the first place.

There were... way more Double Dragon references this time. That's not a complaint, if anything, it's a compliment. But it just goes to show that River City Girls was effectively more of a tribute to the entirety of Technos Japan's back catalog, as opposed to strictly being laser-focused on the Kunio-kun/River City series. I mean, the game's intro clued me into the fact that Abobo was gonna be a boss fight... but I was not expecting Burnov to show up as a bouncer. He even did the thing! Not to mention some familiar tunes from Double Dragon popping up. Makes me really sad that Arc System Works doesn't seem willing to greenlight a second Double Dragon Neon... or maybe WayForward just doesn't want to do that themselves. I dunno, the point is the world needs more Skullmageddon.

The Abobo and Sabuko boss fights were pretty good, but the Noize boss fight felt like a bit of a waste of time... with the long Guitar Hero-inspired segments between actually fighting her being particularly annoying. Oh well, her characterization definitely made up for it.

I guess as far as the standard game goes, I finished up this time. I saw the standard ending. The thing is, I was actually planning on giving River City Girls three sessions in the first place. And as it turns out, I'm actually most of the way to the true ending. Sooooooo... despite the implication that this would be the final stream of the bunch, we're going into overtime next time. I'll be tracking down the few remaining statues and doing the secret final boss fight. Hell, the guy who nominated the next game in line was there and even he's onboard with it.

So yeah, see you next time for the TRUE ending.
