Wow, so sad I didn't play with this bigly weapon sooner, damage wise it does very well, and I found myself catching people with the WA fairly consistently. There's a number of reasons for that:

1. The weapon art has a windup like an R2, so just swap it out for an R2 when you know the timing will probably work.
2. The weapon art has disjointed hitboxes that cover a wider horizontal area than you think
3. The WA R2 can be activated quite a while after the initial attack
4. The perservence/poise reduces damage taken and lets you follow up with another attack if you miss or get punished.
5. The WA, after the recent patch buff, deals 800-900 damage as a true combo.

The major downside is that you are still using a slow great hammer, and the WA eats all your stam stams. However this is managable for typical random duels. I also kept Thrall axe as a back up for finishes and people who are essentialling trying to cheese me slow hammer moveset.

Anyways I had a lot of fun and it had me thinking about which great hammer is best.... I think my vote still has to go with Great Club, what do you think?
