Dead Connection (Arcade) CO-OP Playthrough / When fighting crime becomes personal.
Dead Connection (1992) by Taito is is a vastly underrated one-screen shoot'em up that takes place in the climate of the first half of the 20th century, a criminal world ruled by the Mafia. You can see references to classics like "The Godfather" and "The Untouchables" in the film's interludes. A very successful game it must be admitted, and this is mainly due to the unusual perspective. It's a bit like an isometric/bird's eye view of a small area, where we have to defend ourselves from waves of gangsters. Each of the four heroes does not differ in anything but the color of the coat. There are four weapons as far as I remember: a standard pistol, an automatic pistol, a shotgun and the irreplaceable Tommy gun. The control is very simple and intuitive on one button we shoot on the other we dodge bullets. Destruction of the environment as well as interaction is very satisfying. There are some elements of the environment that can be blown up or, for example, dropped on our opponents with the help of some lever or just a well-aimed shot. It is really fun to play, there is a lot of action and the exchanges of gunfire are very dynamic. All in all, the game reminds me a lot of "Cabal" or "Blood Bros" only that it is realized from a different perspective. All in all, it's a bit like Smash T.V., but for me it's better in practically every aspect. Very atmospheric vendetta full of climate of legendary gangster movies, I highly recommend this game and especially in Co-Op.
