Mercs (Arcade) CO-OP Playthrough / A two-man army sent to rescue the president and crush terrorists.
3Mercs (1990) by Capcom is is a very decent representative of the run-and-gun genre from a bird's-eye perspective. Here we have a fairly standard scenario of games from the 80s/90s where, of course, the president is kidnapped and the heroes have to rescue him from the hands of heinous terrorists. This is a rather strange case because the game in terms of visuals does not somehow stand out from the competition . Sound in my humble opinion is the weakest part of this game. The sound effects are inadequate and sometimes even annoying on a long scale. The music is there, but it doesn't make any impression at all, as if it really wasn't there at all. But fortunately gameplay-wise everything was done correctly. running and shooting at targets brings really great satisfaction. There is a lot going on on the screen, many explosions , objects to destroy, and various enemies. The gameplay is dynamic and full of action. A cool motif is the addition of vehicles such as a jeep or a tank, which can be driven jointly by one person driving, the other shooting. There are also stationary turrets which can be used at certain moments of the game. This is certainly a great variety and adds depth to the gameplay. The difficulty level seems to be balanced enough that even on a real slot machine it could be completed with a rather small amount of cash. Overall the game is not exceptional, but for two players it is certainly a good way to spend a few minutes.
