[DFFOO JP][A3C5P1 Lufenia+]Ex recast char 1: Ashe helping Noel spam EXs
After yesterday's Kimahri and Ashe team, it occurred to me that with the introduction of lv90 and EX extensions, EX recast up characters would have more value and interesting interactions. So I tried out some of them and see what can be done.
Team: Ashe Noel Jegran
Jegran's Lufenia+ is incredibly tanky. With this team setup almost the entire team operate based on Ashe's support other than each individual's self buffs. The idea is to clear this with defence bypassing attacks: Noel's EX and Jegran's crystallisation.
Ashe and Noel:
The way she helps with recasts is by using the LD, then the transformed HP attack which also happens to manipulate turn order, give a buff that has HP damage up onto the person you are directing to and everyone gets their EX back to max. Naturally you want to let Noel do his EX first, then Ashe immediately follow-up with the transformed HP attack and charges his EX immediately to get the maximum value out of this.
This attack is limited to her 4 LD uses, but it is incredibly powerful for Noel. Since the most damaging move for Noel is his Ex Meteor Javelin+, and you want to get as many out as possible under the most powerful buffs. Using it under his BT effect, other BTs and some booster CAs would mean you getting a few extra million damage. Normally Noel can spam around 4 Meteor Javelin+ under his own BT but with Ashe you can do 1 -2 more
BT 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
Ashe: LD HP LD EX HP LD EX HP
Noel: EX EX S2 EX EX S2 EX EX
depending on whether you want to C88 after it wears off, you may be able to pull off 6. I used a few during Machina's BT effect since he boosts Noel's HP damage cap, so throwing more Javelins out there at that time frame will go even beyond the normal threshold. Since this is a test with minimal buff, it did not go beyond 1mil this time (HA+2 also hurts a little bit).
Also her turn manipulation can come in clutch, pulling Noel in to break the boss or recharge her EX to apply paralyzes.
Ashe and Jegran:
Jegran also has ignore defence attacks and on top of that his 3 stack crystallisation buff gives him BRV cap damage (random numbers). He and Noel are the reason why the boss can be dealt with without stacking incredible amount of auras.
Different attacks apply different number of stacks and you don't want them to hit 3 at the same time, because they trigger once per turn regardless and all 3 stacks are lost. If you play your cards right, Jegran would have a lot more uptime with his crystallisation debuff active and trigger more follow-up for damage and rainbow numbers. Other than his LD, his EX inflict 2 stacks on both targets which is a very powerful tool to quickly bump one of the enemy to 3. (Example: A is at 1, B is at 0, after EX means A3B2, triggering follow-up without losing stacks on B). If you time it right with Ashe, you can get more follow-ups than you normally can.
Alternative: Serah instead of Jegran
I have tried Serah as well, she actually works too with additional pros and cons.
The good thing is since the add does not gain stats over the course of the battle, her mBRV debuff together with a Fran debuff (you need stack debuffs for the boss orb) would lock the adds at 0 BRV. Meaning the adds will HP attack you for 0 dmg, posing no threat, and more importantly Noel can Fear Siphon++ them into even more EX 😂. The drawback is boss orb will tick down faster at the same time.
Another good thing is Serah still caps damage and battery the party deep into the fight, and she boosts the others as well. The problem is there are a lot of debuffs in the field, if your order of debuff application is messed up, her debuff and Ashe's paralysis may overwrite each other, causing wipes.
It is an interesting experiment and I am glad that it works out. Damage-wise it may look better with Serah Noel and Ashe, but the run with Jegran is less headache and cleaner so I chose this. XD
Be sure to be on the look out for EX recast charging characters, I think their values are only going to be increasing in the near future.
