[DFFOO JP][Ursula Lufenia+]Too much battery III: Serah vs 90% Brv gain reduction w/Paine (right)
Context: This Lufenia+ goes up to 90% Brv reduction, Ursula has no Brv gain aura, neither does Serah other than her C88 that comes with a 10% Party-wide Brv gain. Paine on the right also has no Brv Gain up. The orb requires Brv gained above 100% mBRV within one action. Serah somehow fulfils this while doing actual damage.
I purposefully put Paine on the right for two reasons:
1. Reduce Boss Damage
Normally the boss hit mildly hard, back-to-back AoE HP dump would kill your party. With Paine on the right reducing their BRV gain and dmg dealt, I resort to only relying on CAs to heal, instead of needing a dedicated healer.
2. 50% HP damage up and no BRV gain
The no BRV gain part is mainly for testing purposes. I wanted to see how Serah performs in 90% reduction, and ... it is actually quite mind boggling that she can fulfil the orb herself.
Instead of putting Paine on the left for the BRV damage up, it would seem that the extreme HP damage up in this case help Serah capping damage despite not being able to cap her BRV damage. With Gabranth's call, counting only party auras this team has around:
20% (Ursula) + 50% (Paine (right)) + 25% (Serah) + Gabranth (20%) = 115%
Technically speaking, Gabranth's HP damage up is a debuff which applies after the actual damage from the character is calculated, so it is even more beneficial to split HP damage attacks.
Serah:
Against all odds with the reduction, Serah delivers both damage and extreme amount of battery, saving some need for Ursula's S2 usage and let her use her transformed HP attack without battery herself. Her gear also synergises with her role as a battery debuffer (buffer as well with her new LD board on JP) with additional 30% BRV gain just like Snow. So in conjunction to her C88 bringing that extra party-wide 10% Brv gain Up aura, she has no problem surviving the current highest reduction in Lufenia+ (90%).
Her battery comes in mostly 3 forms: from ATK stat, current BRV and HP damage dealt. So putting Ursula with BRV lock and battery, Paine with stat ups would make her battery even more effective.
With her rework and 90 awakening, her skills now have 2, 3, 2, 4 dumps on S1, S2, EX and LD respectively. Moonlight+ and Paradigm Shift Combo are her most damaging moves and have the most battery potential, so it is not really hard to see Serah doing around 300K-400K+ depending on how much you invest in her gear and your party members.
Also her LD rework allows her to frame her debuffs. It is a good thing if you don't want her debuffs to be rinsed or pushed off, on the other hand it demands slightly more attention if you want to push off some of the debuffs, do it before using her LD and framing them. Despite JP having 8 max debuff slots however, her BRV / HP damage up from her LD board rework does not demand an increase in debuff numbers, it remains at 6.
Maybe she will have a BT some day, I think with just her 90 awakening, LD board rework and base skill rework she is doing great currently even when she is not supposed to lol. Imagine putting her besides Y'shtola. Coincidentally Snow would like having Serah around, because he likes batteries. They both have BRV gain armor and Snow has an additional 30% BRV gain buff as well, so putting them together naturally requires almost no external BRV gain help.
If there is one thing I think Serah should have, it is probably healing.
Finally finished examining the current batch of characters. Most probably skipping Queen, Cater and Llyud (?) the new character from FFXII revenant wings. Kinda need to save some upgrade materials. Probably...
Sorry for the barrage of videos today, it is exciting when characters come with interesting mechanics and level 90 awakening. So there are experiments to be had.
May do something for ultima weapons, but still kind of on the fence on crafting a second weapon. I do think the amount that you get is actually more than enough to craft a few of the lv 1 weapons, but I kinda want to wait and see who is coming as the second BT candidate of the month.
