Diddy Kong Racing Multiplayer Race 6
7Part six of a set of 3-player multiplayer matches in Diddy Kong Racing for the Nintendo 64 by Rare. Diddy Kong (MacDaddyNook), Banjo (SunBurntKen) and Tiptup (Duck) race inside of the Hot Top Volcano.
Hot Top Volcano, the fourth course of the Dino Domain, takes place inside the titular volcano. It is a relatively simple course with a few tunnels and aerial boost rings to fly through, but it's still one of my favorites. It's interesting that players can actually drive hovercrafts on top of the lava in this course. Unfortunately, the way the level is set up, all the boost areas and item balloons are out of reach for hovercraft drivers. The music of this course is also great.
As stated before, all music that plays during the race was added in during post production as the Nintendo 64's hardware limitation forced the game to omit music during multiplayer races of three or more players.
