39Splatterhouse: Wanpaku Graffiti was released for the Famicom in Japan in 1989. I guess in a way this is the real Splatterhouse 2 as it was released years before Splatterhouse 2 on the Mega Drive/Genesis though it's not a direct sequel to the original Arcade or PCE/TG-16 version. This is a reproduction NES cartridge that was sent to me years ago by a viewer. I could have sworn I reviewed it years ago but was recently surprised to see that I haven't. Perfect timing for Halloween!
The game is surprisingly good with decent graphics, average music but shines with excellent controls that are very quick to respond to direction change and attack. The game is short but has many boss fights and no two levels that look alike.
