As the levels increase in size and scope, the arsenal of weapons multiplies and new enemy types get thrown into the mix, DOOM keeps improving. The mobility, tactical rhythm and weapon synergy which characterize the busier firefights is very satisfying, and it's clear that the developers worked very hard to tweak this unique FPS style until it was just right.
