I don't know what exactly to say, I remember well Skulltag for being something that I gravitated towards when I had the chance, Pure multiplayer action before I found Zandronum, This 2009 Cacoaward winner is by Zaelwa who is well known for making Skulltag mods and wads, Though I wonder...What the hell were you thinking Robert when you made that name?
Released on February 26th 2009, Tribute has 8 maps to it's name, I'm using the Doomworld version as opposed to one from the sites in the text file, The story follows us on Earth following the conclusion of World War III, We control a un-named protagonist who is searching for signs of life when he's attacked, It seems alright but perhaps this wad had that going for it and not much else.
I ran this wad with GZDoom as Skulltag won't run for me on Windows 10 and on Windows 8 for some reason, The textures didnt work right so some white and blue checkered stuff appeared for me, The shotgun you get has a strange reload so I struggled to get it loaded in the middle of combat, Difficulty is all over the place with frustrating chaingunner placement, and poor ammo placement and the fog doesn't help either, It's nice to see this wad did something new but playing it was a aggravating experience for me.
