https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/Ports/p-r/phocas2 Adventure games were the cream of the crop for DOS prior to FPS games taking over but they still live on, A time when point and click games were being made, I still look back on them as getting me into pc games just like FPS games, I've not seen many aside from Phocas Island and it's sequel along with Community Is Falling 3 as tackling the adventure game format until the last few years of GZDoom powered games.
Released by Chris Hopkins (Chopkinsca) on November 8th 2006 and earning a Cacoaward for that year, Phocas Island 2 is a 6 level hub like adventure mod, We're on a deserted (supposedly) island and need to find a way off while solving puzzles and evading demons that are on the island, The wad is inspired by adventure games and point and click games such as Monkey Island, Ultima, and other high name games of the genre.
The mapping is impressive, This island looks very well crafted even when I viewed it in software mode after recording this video, Since we're unarmed and need to locate weapons we have to not be surrounded by the small demon pinkies as their bites hurt a lot, It gets confusing to figure out what to do next as you'd expect in a adventure game but Phocas Island 2 certainly made it work within Doom.
