EarthBound - Episode 1: With Great PSI Powers Comes Great Adventures
2In today's episode of the "EarthBound" playthrough, we investigate a strange meteorite that crashed outside of Ness' house, which results in us starting our quest to collect the eight songs and stop Giygas.
A meteorite crashed near Ness' house, so naturally, we don't waste any time in heading out to investigate it while beating up some crows and dogs to gain some experience and learn the basic battle mechanics. Though while Ness is doing most of the fighting, we're not alone because we're accompanied by his cowardly dog, King, and Nintendo's version of Eric Cartman that we love to hate, Porky Minch, who does absolutely nothing. Sure, King's quick to run away at the first sign of danger, but at least he tries to help us fight enemies, unlike Porky, who spends every battle trying to give out fake compliments and hide behind Ness. Heck, even Porky's little brother, Picky, who we have to go out and save, helps out more than his big brother by dishing out a small amount of damage to enemies.
Though as far as allies go, we encounter a really powerful one in the form of Buzz Buzz, an insect from the future who tasks us with saving the world by collecting eight songs in order to defeat an evil entity known as Giygas, who proceeds to destroy a Starman Junior, only to get killed by Porky's mom.
