The Multi-Medium - Finale: What We Call Chaos is just Art We Haven't Recognized
In today's episode of "The Multi-Medium", we try to save a collage city from an eldritch abomination, make our way through a void of gouache shapes, and finally get our main protagonist home.
Contrary to all of the other worlds that we've visited, the seventh world's just a regular collage city that has no hazards, with the exception of a couple of cars at the start of the level if you're impatient at the crosswalk. However, that quickly changes when a meteorite makes impact with the city, reducing it to flaming rubble and causes tears in reality to form. Though on the bright side, these tears behave like the portals from the "Portal" series- anything that goes in one will come out of the other while maintaining its momentum- which, in conjunction with the elevators scattered around, will be needed if we want to reach the end.
Though just like in World 1, upon reaching the end of the level, we're forced into a chase sequence, only this time, instead of an insectoid monster, we're dealing with some deformed eldritch abomination that's made out of a hodgepodge of random images and corrupts anything that it touches. As such, our only hope for survival is to hop on a nearby bike and keep moving right until we can't move right anymore.
Unfortunately for the eight and final world, as good as it is, it's not a case of the game saving the best for last because it focuses less on puzzles and platforming and more on self-reflection as we wander a gouache void full of random shapes. Though I will admit that I like the "Mario Galaxy"-esque gravity jumping.
So with this last world completed, we learn the truth behind our journey and can return home, though if you collected all nine medallions, you're able to enter a room that can only be described as being as disturbing as it is random.
In regards to my next playthrough, the first episode of which will be uploaded this coming Friday, 9/8/23. In the meantime, I'll be uploading two remixes: one tomorrow, 9/6/23, and one this Thursday, 9/7/23.
