Ever Nights is a decent, free Fighter Maker title that's been out for a while and had neared completion back in 2008 at version 0.90. It is currently at Version 0.92. It has eleven characters each with a good number of moves and a decent engine. In addition to regular moves and super moves, characters can upgrade regular moves for the cost of one special gauge, which is useful for continuing combos in many instances. Characters can also unleash a "Limit Break" by pressing weak attack and the special button at the same time, though I have no idea what positive effects it has, I've only seen the negative ones, such as losing all special gauge energy you've accumulated when it runs out (Limit Breaks last longer when you're near defeat and they can only be used once a round). It is important to note that you can enter training mode by pressing down three times and the "Fifth button" assigned to a controller, which normally doesn't do anything (as you have five attack buttons and a non-used button). I don't know what button that would be on a keyboard. This is a video of a few matches.
