E.V.O.: Search for Eden [ Super Nintendo ] - Intro & Gameplay
We continue today the streak of making videos that include the start and sometime forward, usually until death.
This is E.V.O.: Search for Eden
EVO was developed by Almanic Corporation and published by Enix and it's basically a remake / new game with the same'ish plot as Almanic's older game, 46 Okunen Monogatari ~The Shinka Ron~ that was released for PC-98 and had a fan-translation patch back in 2016/2017. Each game does things differently but both games are pretty darn amazing in their own right. There's even a Dragon Quest easter egg in the PC-98 game.
I played EVO for the first time, like so many other games, in my early teenage years between 13-16, and it was just as incredible back then as it was now. It was even one of the many games I taught my sisters ( with moderate success ) on how to play.
I absolutely adore the start of the game when it's so far back in time, water is covering most of the world. If I could go to any time on our world, as an immortal observer or something, this is the time I'd choose because I love the ocean and find it enormously fascinating. And as you can see in this video, evolving the angler horn makes the food come to you.
I swear I sat the whole time quoting White Fang the book to myself,
" It stung her! It hurted and she yelped! She got angry and she bit it. It made a squeek. It was funny. She bit again. Blood seeped into her mouth. This was good! This was meat! Meat was the law and this was meat. She ate it! "
