This is a demonstration of F1 Race Stars with Rapture3D's HRTF (Amber tables). This is among a handful of commercial games that was shipped with built-in Rapture3D OpenAL support. Like OpenAL Soft, it's a fork of the open-source OpenAL 1.1 with support for HRTF. Interestingly, F1 Race Stars seems to use some kind of proprietary EFX (not EAX) that OpenAL Soft doesn't support. It can be heard at 1:00 and in other tunnel scenes. Rapture3D also has support for 7.1 surround subwoofers, but honestly I can see why this software never caught on. 30 Euros doesn't break the bank and I'm sure game licensing costs weren't bad, but open-source (well, LGPL) will always win out in the end. Always.
On a side note, there's nothing actually unique about Rapture3D's six HRTF tables. While Blue Ripple Sound did process them a bit, they're the same tables as in my lengthy spatial audio demo:
Amber: IRCAM LISTEN
Blue: CIAIR
Green: CIAIR (variation?)
Orange: IRCAM LISTEN (different than Amber)
Red: MIT KEMAR (OpenAL Soft's default)
Yellow: MIT KEMAR (variation?)
