Rushing toward the balcony, Snake just caught a glimpse of his sister leaving the house through the front door. He called out to her but the creaking of the closing door must have drowned him out. What was she thinking even leaving the house? Wasn't she going to get help for her unconscious brother? Snake puzzled at the situation, it reminded him of how she just left for the woods earlier in the morning.
With out wasting another second, he ran down the stairs, his quick pace echoing a thudding rhythm through out the house and causing dust to rush up at his feet. The swinging of his torch created all manner of beings in the form of twisted shadows to dance around the walls as he sprinted for the front door. Snake threw the door open, coughing on the dirty air greeting him. He saw what appeared to be an old radio with Mayu's charm, that never left her neck, resting on top of it. The radio was giving off a horrible shriek of static, it sounded like it what is agony. Snake reached out for the keep sake of his sister when a crackled voice escaped the radio.
"...Crimson...butterfly...calling...me."
The radio returned to it's hair raising static for a few seconds before turning off. No mistaking it, that was Mayu. But something wasn't right, she didn't sound human, more robotic or rather more expressionless, the voice was calmly monotone.
"Crimson butterfly?" It didn't make sense, he picked up the radio and the charm, at this point, logical thinking only held him back, he had to work with the information that was there. He opened the door and a glowing cloud of crimson red fluttered past him....
