F.E.A.R. is truly one of the best games ever made, and its sound design is just one of the many reasons why this is so. Every element from the mighty gunshots to the chatter of enemies to even the sounds of random physics objects mixes together to create a soundscape that really matches the on-screen chaos. It doesn't end there, however. Indeed, with the X-Fi Titanium's EAX 4.0 and native CMSS-3D HRTF, the sound quality of F.E.A.R. 1 goes from "amazing" to "legendary". The reverb is directional, which combined with the realistic occlusion effect makes for a convincing Aureal (R.I.P.) wavetracing emulation. Add onto this the excellent binaural audio and you get what is arguably the most immersive game audio ever. You'll actually hear the intelligent AI's occluded footsteps with 100% accuracy as they try to flank you, which actually happens in this video at 10:35.

I'm playing this with a number of fixes for modern PCs linked below. I apologize for the sloppy playing. I had to skip to Interval 07 for footage since it's rather late in the game, so my health and reflexes were minimal.
