F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin with virtual surround sound (CMSS-3D Headphone)

This is a demonstration of F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin with the X-Fi Titanium's CMSS-3D Headphone. Unlike the other videos, this does not feature native HRTF but rather headphone virtualization. However, there's a reason I chose this one to show off and it's because of the high-quality HRTF. My theory is that games using XAudio2 + X3DAudio can benefit from enhanced 3D sound positioning in CMSS-3D over the plain software surround used in FMOD or Wwise. This is also how the X3DAudio HRTF hook works (though sadly, that's not compatible with Fear 2 since it uses an older .dll). Indeed, the HRTF quality sounds about as good as Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. CMSS-3D Headphone in most other modern games is barely even noticeable. I have to test more X3DAudio games before I can come to a conclusion.
In all honesty, though, don't ever buy this game. It's poopoo crap. There's a reason I recorded the demo. I should also point out that setting music volume to 0 also mutes the FMVs so I had to re-record it separately. Because you know, that's what quality video games do, right?
