First boss of the final dungeon, and quite possibly also the last before the final boss. I'll explain the situation regarding this in a bit, let me cover the battle first.

We face Belphegor the second time here. He's an optional boss, just like any other demon king's servant in the final dungeon. When you first enter the area, you lose ALL your crowns and your characters all become Freelancers. To return your jobs into which you've put effort and time, you are expected to re-fight all the servants again. They're all alive and they want revenge before your crowns slowly return.

It's not obligatory to fight any of them at all. However, we need AT LEAST the Wayfarer job, which is the only class that offers the ability Escape, letting us avoid random encounters. In the pack unlocked by beating one servant, we also get White Mage and Black Mage jobs. Not satisfactory at all to go into the final fight with just these three jobs as much use as we've made in this playthrough, but more info on that later.

We have to decide between fighting Belphegor or fighting the deadlier Asmodeus, which is in the opposite hall. The other servants are in rooms further away and we will run into many random encounters before we reach them (as well as the final boss). Unlike Asmodeus, who knows magic of three elements, has a destructive multi-target physical attack, Belphegor is not nearly as hard, so I opt to fight him for my first crowns instead.

He has a lot more HP now (around 3-4K) and the 3 Cubes that support him have over 1K health now. They're all initially weak to ice/water but shift their weakness each time you penetrate it. So, not to gamble and heal them with magic, we should only attack with Leaf tomes (Leaf, Leafra and Leafaga are all non-elemental) and the Desolator tome.

Seriously, Desolator is awesome. God bless Desolator in this challenge. As low-levelled Freelancer, neither magic nor physical attacks do more than silly two digit damage to the bosses, but Desolator provides a substantial boost to magic, so I give it to Yunita, the surviving character in this battle.

Leafga will deal some awful ~20 damage to bosses even when psyched up, but I still use them when I don't need any healing because Desolator requires 2 or so turns to recharge the AP because you need 5 to use it (4 if you're a Black Mage). So might as well chip some damage off while we wait. Using Ethers isn't a good idea because the computer chooses the target of your action for you, and the other characters are just as likely to run out of AP as Yunita, making it unreliable and unstable. Plus, without a Salve-maker, we're going to run out of Ethers very quickly (not that they're expensive or anything, just the item space is limited in this game).

The hardest part is definitely the beginning, before Lux has been applied, and when the enemies tend to gang up on one character with single-target attacks. I had to reset a few times because somebody kept dying. But after Lux's boost to all stats + Regen, keeping everybody alive isn't such a terrible problem.

I killed the 3 guys off too quickly, not knowing exactly how much damage I need to finish the boss off, and panicked when the boss increased his damage potential to me all of a sudden (probably because nobody else was spamming Cure anymore) . I used items to help me beat the boss quickly at this point.

Okay, at this point I can just go and attempt the final boss with the levels you see at the end of the video. However, it's extremely unlikely that I'll have any luck, seeing how Chaos's second form knocks most of the party out in one attack. There are still strategies to try out, but the two most likely scenarios currently are:
a) Fight more servants and recover better crowns like Bard, Elementalist, Salve-maker, or maybe fight most of them to get Dark Fencer which is great at dealing damage.
b) do one of the optional bonus towers for the ultimate equipment, bonus tower exclusive shop goods and the cap for equipment upgrades increased by 10.

Right now when I get some time to play I'm going to check how the experience gained during B compares to taking on the demon king servants who provide A LOT of experience by the way, and I also want to toy around with some immediate final boss strategies I have in mind. Let me just say that the final boss can be put to sleep or paralysed, but that's not such a big help as one might think.
