FF The 4 Heroes of Light - Low Level Game Part 15: 4 Doppelgangers
So once upon a time, with a lot of disdain towards the sound that I get when recording DS videos, I decided to mess around with the settings of things and... as a result, lost the sound during recording entirely. Whoop dee doo. Maybe that's for the best, seeing how the sound was really horrible in those recent videos.
Anyway, lately the obscurest of tracks in my videos' backgrounds have been copyright claimed, much to my chagrin, meaning I barely have anything left to use in my vids nowadays. I'll stick with video game remixes for the time being since those aren't sought by their respective labels, or maybe even leave the videos without any sound and anybody will be encouraged to play their own music while watching my videos. I dunno, really, maybe I could just put the original battle themes over the recordings. I could use some opinions.
Anyway, today's battle is against the 4 Doppelgangers fought when retrieving the Lamp of Truth in Horne, second visit. The gang attack 8 times a turn together which is quite a lot, and that poses a lot of problems to first-time players.
However, all attacks are dark-elemental, nullified by any setup that resists the element at least twice... Be it Mysterio, Dark Shields or the Cape of Light that cuts all elemental damage by half.
I want three people dead by the end to gain 800 exp less as a sum for the whole party, so that's quite a problem. Mysterio + no equipment + Darksteel Shields on the three that will die ensure they withstand the attacks when they're still necessary (you can't really solo this battle because the damage is high indeed and the attacks inflict statuses like curse, blind and poison when you're not protected, so you either sacrifice your status protection or the elemental one. That is, we need somebody else to cast Mysterio for the first three turns of the fight where most of the enemies are eliminated).
When Mysterio runs out, we kill all Doppelgangers but one, wait for everybody but Brandt to die and finish the last one off.
You may notice I get critical'd a lot in this challenge... This is because levels decide critical hit rate first and foremost, and you can guess what tendency that brings for low level players...
